This is an old work from 2007
It's a Fanart inspired by the song "Stille der Nacht" from the german Gothic band ASP and it's the second song of them I ever heard.
It may be old but I still consider it as one of my best works.
Was done in Open Canvas.
It's actually a Wallpaper fitting my old PC.

I have no idea why I haven't uploaded it yet.

Wie wundervoll. Du hast diese Sehnsucht, diesen Schmerz, die Einsamkeit und besonders auch diese klirrende Eiseskälte der Nacht perfekt eingefangen.
Wie er dort alleine im Licht der Straße steht, kein Fenster lässt ihn herein, keiner sieht ihn...und sein Blick ist so schmerzerfüllt, dass man wahres Mitleid mit ihm empfindet.
Großartig! :D

Vielen lieben Dank :) Das Bild ist schon ziemlich alt und immernoch denke ich dass es eines der besten ist die ich je gemacht habe, umso mehr freut es mich selbst jetzt noch zu lesen, dass die beabsichtigte Stimmung rüberkommt.

insanity? I personally associate it more with a feeling of extreme solitude and the loss of something precious.

And that is fine, i just wanted to point out that i miss those rather insane moments expressed in the refrain. in my opinion, and that is all i wanted to express for i like your picture very much, there is more to the song than solitude.
